Estabilidad dental post-ortodóntica en pacientes clase III esqueletal, tratamiento quirúrgico vs. Camuflaje
Resumen
El objetivo fue reconocer las limitaciones y los aciertos que la investigación y la clínica ha aportado para mejorar el tratamiento de ortodoncia en relación con la estabilidad en pacientes clase III tratados con camuflaje vs. Tratados quirúrgicamente. El estudio fue de tipo descriptivo transversal y documental. La estabilidad, teóricamente hablando, debería siempre estar enfocada al largo plazo, siempre y cuando se haya llegado a un correcto diagnóstico y plan de tratamiento adecuado e individualizado para cada paciente. La recidiva siempre va a plantear un reto adicional para el ortodoncista, debido a que el tratamiento no consiste solo en alinear las piezas dentales, sino también agregarles una correcta funcionalidad y estética aceptable por decir lo menos, junto con una intercuspidación y salud periodontal que puedan asegurar un resultado perdurable en el tiempo.
