A look at early childhood education as public policy in Ecuador

Abstract

In Ecuador, it is only recently that Early Childhood Education was constitutionally recognized for the first time as part of the national education system. This article focuses on describing certain advances in early childhood education in Ecuador as a public policy. Methodologically, the article corresponds to a descriptive documentary study, and was developed through a bibliographic design. As a colophon, it states that early education as a public policy shows significant advances in terms of theoretical foundations, legislative aspects, socio-educational practices and technological innovation.
